Ruby's Book  2003 paper, leather, copper, brass.  5"x7" This simple journal explores construction technique and decorative treatement in the book format. The sunflower medallion lifts to release a spring loaded catch, allowing the book to open. The blank pages inside the book alternate between creamy yellow and khaki, pleasant on the eye and anxious to be filled by its owner.  The first page contains an illuminated poem.
