The Book of Many Travels  2004 leather, paper, ink.  6"x6" This is a technique study, exploring closures and leather types I don't normally use.  I also experimented with the use of ink on leather and with dyes. I really enjoy making sketchbooks and journals, so it is a format that I spend a lot of time working in. There's something attractive about the "potential energy" of the empty book, as well as the mystery and captured time of the book once it has been filled.
